The contradictions are startling. Thanks for detailing the mess. If - when - we get rid of all the current regime's fascists, I hope we turn toward a more progressive way of life and politics that benefit the 98% of us non-millionaires. Not the top 2% in income.

What’s been said is we are an idea and a dream to be fulfilled. I believe, I hope, we are seeing with clearer eyes. We are what we are, and we are not what we only wish to be.

I am sure God is scratching his head in wonderment - is today the day I bless America or forgive it.

Progress is hard won. We worked for change in the 60s and 70s and got Reagan, the Bushes, and Trump. Many of us sought diversity, equality, and inclusion as positive things and now people are running away from these values as fast as they can. We defeated both foreign and homegrown Nazis and like a hydra they keep coming.

Every generation has had to learn how to organize, and I have no doubt that that Trump will not prevail. But we are also running out of time. And it is quicker to inflict damage than it is to repair things. The clock of the environment, of the need for social justice, and imperative of peace will not wait.

Yes, we are all of it. A big bundle of contradictions. Now the question is, can we make our way back to the good part.

Our town was subdued today as the cruelty of the BBB sinks in. We do know the yachts were out in force in Palm Beach. The topic of conversation was how much bigger the boats will be at next year’s July 4th.

The see-saw, the balancing act: it's what we have to keep working for however dizzy and tired we get. This was a terrific statement and I hope we see what your telling us as strengthening. It lifted me up, a real contribution in these times of ugliness.

It drives me crazy that the press and Trump administration make sure he never has to answer the truly hard questions. John, I wish you could ask…

If Biden let in over 20 million illegals, as Trump said, during Biden’s term. And many were criminals as Trump said, then why has ICE deported only about 50,000 and are arresting immigrants who have been here a long time? If there were so many criminal illegal immigrants here in just the last few years, why are they snatching hard working people from Home Depot’s and car washes, many who have been here for decades. It’s completely insane. The people now being detained and deported should be last on their list.

Have a great day John. I cherish you. 👏

We call ourselves the United States of America, when in reality, we are the Divided States of America. Trump was elected to keep it that way. DEI made us the country that other countries used to envy. Because they thought that we were united.
